Have you tried Vitamin G?


You've heard of Vitamin D. You probably take it in the winter when Michigan decides the sun is optional.

But Vitamin G? That's what we're prescribing this summer.

Vitamin G -- as in grass under your feet, garden air in your lungs, and the specific kind of calm that only happens when you're outside and your nervous system finally remembers what quiet feels like.

Science backs this up. Time outdoors lowers cortisol. Natural light regulates your mood and your sleep. Fresh air and green space reduce anxiety in ways that are measurable and real. Add yoga to that equation and you're not just moving your body -- you're actively resetting it.

Starting May 31st, Hippie Yoga is heading to the St. Clair Shores Community Garden for a free outdoor yoga practice. Once a month. All summer long.

And this isn't just show up and stretch. The community garden members will be on hand to show us around and answer questions. You might leave with a new pose AND a new obsession with growing your own tomatoes. No promises.

Bring a mat, bring a friend, bring your neighbor who keeps saying they want to try yoga but hasn't made it to the studio yet. This is the perfect entry point.

We'll be practicing Warrior II outside this month -- which honestly feels like exactly the right place for it.
