This month we are celebrating the calm, thoughtful energy of our very own Mistie. If you have taken her classes, you already know she has a gift for helping people feel grounded, supported, and centered from the moment they unroll their mat.
Her favorite pose right now
Mistie is loving Malasana. With her internship keeping her in a chair more than usual, this deep hip-opening squat has been her go-to throughout the day. She uses it while starting the dishwasher, picking something up, or taking a moment to reconnect with her breath. It stretches her hips, low back, and ankles, and brings a sense of calm into long days.
A current challenge
Her biggest challenge lately has been making time for her own practice. Life shifted, schedules changed, and daily yoga has been harder to fit in. She is working through it with grace, not judgment, by scheduling her classes at the start of each month so she has dedicated time just for her.
Her teaching style
Mistie loves weaving a theme through every class. She blends movement, breathwork, and meaningful quotes to help you carry the practice off the mat. Her favorite thing to teach is deep diaphragmatic breathing, a powerful tool for calming the mind and body.
Why she loves Hippie Yoga
For Mistie, the magic is our community. She loves watching people connect, check in on one another, celebrate each other, and welcome new students with open arms. She says Hippie feels accessible because everyone is encouraged to listen to their own bodies and practice without judgment.
A message from her to you
Mistie wants every student to remember this:Do not look at the other mats. Look within.Your practice is personal. You belong here, exactly as you are.
