November at Hippie: Strength or Softness?

November is here, and at Hippie, we're dedicating the month to self-care.
But let's talk about what self-care actually means.
Because sometimes self-care looks like a hot bath, a good book and an early bedtime.
And sometimes it looks like getting off your ass and moving your body, even when the couch sounds pretty damn good.
Self-care isn't always about doing less. It's about figuring out what you need.
Which brings me to our November Pose of the Month: Bridge Pose.
Bridge is a great example of how the same yoga pose can serve two very different purposes.
In an active Bridge, we're working. Strengthening our glutes, engaging our core and building strength through the back of the body.
But place a block underneath the pelvis for a Supported Bridge, and suddenly we're doing something very different. We're allowing the body to rest, release some effort and settle into the support.
Same pose. Different intention.
And neither version is better than the other.
That's what I want us to explore this month.
Does your body need strength today? Or does it need a little softness?
Maybe it's both.
The important part is learning to recognize what you need instead of automatically doing what you think you should do.
And that's also the spirit behind our November Self-Care Bingo Challenge. A little encouragement to explore different ways of caring for ourselves, from movement and breath to rest and connection.
So this month, pay attention to what your body is telling you.
Sometimes the answer is to challenge yourself.
Sometimes it's to slow down.
And sometimes it's just to show up and figure it out along the way.
