July Pose of the Month - Table Pose

For most of us, Table Pose is a stop on the way to somewhere else. Cat-Cow, Downward Dog, or a Child’s Pose that barely pauses there long enough to notice it.
This month we’re pausing.
Table Pose isn’t just a transition. It’s a foundation. It teaches your body how to distribute weight evenly across your hands and knees, how to stabilize your shoulders, how to brace your core without gripping. Almost every pose that asks you to bear weight on your hands borrows something from what you build here.
And here’s the part we like most: you don’t need flexibility, strength, or experience to start. You need four points on the ground and a little attention.
We’ll be working Table Pose all month in class. What it’s doing, where people tend to lose it, and a couple of small adjustments that change everything. Next week we’ll get specific about modifications for sensitive knees and wrists, so if that’s you, stay tuned.
One more thing. We’re starting a monthly newsletter just for yoga teachers, training updates, CE opportunities, the behind-the-scenes stuff that’s only useful if you teach. If that’s you, reply to this email and we’ll get you on the list.
See you on the mat.
