Find Your Perfect Heart Opener at Hippie Yoga 💖

At Hippie Yoga, we love heart openers — especially when they’re gentle, supported, and customizable to your needs. This week, we’re highlighting three variations of a Supported Heart Opener you can practice at the studio or at home. Each one offers beautiful benefits for your body and mind, including:✨ Improved posture✨ Reduced tension in the chest and shoulders✨ A gentle, supported opening for emotional release✨ A calming effect on the nervous system

The best part? You can stay in each variation anywhere from 2 to 10 minutes, depending on what feels good for you!

 

Here are three ways to set up your heart opener:

🌟 Option 1: Gentle & Grounded

  • Set your bolster and a block in a straight line on the mat.

  • Sit at the edge and lie back so your body stretches across the bolster from your hips to your head.

  • Arms open wide to a T.

  • This option is the most gentle for the lower back, making it a perfect starting point.

🌟 Option 2: Ramp It Up

  • Place your block at the highest or medium height and lean the bolster against it, creating a soft ramp.

  • Sit down with your hips on the mat and lay your spine and head over the bolster.

  • Arms open to a T.

  • This setup gives a deeper heart opening while still offering lots of support.

🌟 Option 3: Simple & Sweet

  • Place your bolster flat on the mat.

  • Sit at the edge and lie back with your hips on the ground and your spine and head resting on the bolster.

  • Add a folded blanket under your head for extra support.

  • Arms open to a T.

  • This variation gives a gentle lift through the chest without putting pressure on the low back.

A few tips:

  • Close your eyes and breathe naturally.

  • Focus on letting the heart and shoulders soften and expand.

  • Feel free to adjust with extra props (like more blankets!) to find your perfect cozy spot.
