Let’s talk about one of the simplest yet most powerful poses in yoga - Cat/Cow.
This gentle spinal warm-up is often one of the first things we do in class, but don’t let its simplicity fool you. The magic is in the repetition and the rhythm. When practiced regularly, Cat/Cow helps keep your spine mobile, your breath steady, and your nervous system grounded.
Here’s why we love it:
It improves posture and relieves back tension
It helps with digestion and spinal fluid movement
It connects breath to motion, which helps calm the mind
You can also take this pose anywhere; on hands and knees, seated in a chair, or even standing. It’s one of those moves that meets you exactly where you are.
Whether you're just starting your yoga journey or have been practicing for years, Cat/Cow is a great way to check in with your body and breath.
A few rounds a day can go a long way toward keeping your body feeling free and open.
