Take a Deep Breath

It is no mistake that we say “take a deep breath” when someone is feeling stressed, anxious or fearful.  Breathing affects our mood and nervous system.  When we are angry, stressed or scared our breath naturally becomes short and quick.  Taking a long slow deep breath helps us relax.  Here is a breathing technique that can help you relax and calm down whenever you are feel anxious.  This can be do anywhere and you only need about 30 seconds to start feeling better. 

4 Part Breath

Inhale slowly to the count of 4

Hold that for 1 count

Exhale slowly to the count of 4

Hold that for 1 count

Repeat
